Where did I grow up?
I was born and grew up between mountains, in a little village in Alicante (Spain) where I currently live.
What inspired me to become an artist?
Since I was a child I was passionate about creating stories and characters to play with my friends. I was inspired by the books I read and the films I watched, especially Tolkien and Ghibli, that awakened my love for fantasy and creativity.
How did I get the skills I have today?
When I finished high school I did one year of a degree in design and creative technologies. I wasn't satisfied with my drawing base, so I decided to study fine arts at the Universidad Politécnica de Valencia. There I gained much of the knowledge I have today. However, the experience that I think has been the most fulfilling is having artist friends with whom I can talk about art and have feedback.
What work experience do I have?
I've worked twice as a commissioned artist for Wild Sphere, a video game development company. I worked for them as an illustrator and concept artist. I've also spent a year doing after-school art activities with children. But right now I'm trying to make my way into the professional field and gain more experience as a concept artist, storyboarder and illustrator. Meanwhile I'm working with a little team on personal projects focused on comics and writing.
Which is my strength?
Lately I've been focusing on improving my drawing and anatomy, but I would definitely highlight the ease I have with colour and how much I enjoy doing that part of my artwork.
Which artists inspire me?
There are many artists who have helped me shape my art and learn in the process. But I can mention Dan Mora, Audrey Mok, James Gurney, Gretel Lusky and Tamra Bonvillain. From classical artists I am fascinated by Alphonse Mucha.
Besides painters or illustrators, music helps me a lot to work and inspire me in each of my artworks or designs. I have playlists and more playlists of music. I leave here one that I am very fond of, perfect for stressful days.
